Secure Voice: Secure voice communications couldn't be easier. With a standard phone connected to the USS-900NB, simply call another USS-900NB equipped phone. To go into secure mode, just press the red button. A red indicator light will go solid when secure communications are established. Secure Data: Secure Voice and Data (SVD) can be transmitted during the same secure call. Connect the RS-232 serial port of the USS-900NB to the serial port of your computer. Secure point-to-point file transfer is facilitated by special software (Windows only). Secure voice communication can resume after files are transferred. The USS-900 NB runs at speeds of 2400 to 9600 bps. NOTE: The USS-900 (a variation) runs at speeds of 9600 to 33,600 bps and is therefore preferable if all your secure communications are to be routed over the public switched telephone network. Most Outfitter Satellite users require at least partial use of satellite or cellular networks making the USS-900NB a better choice. Also, in order to be compatible with DCS-1200 or DCS-1400 equipped mobile satellite or cellular phones, the USS-900NB is required. * Export Restrictions: All products mentioned above are approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce for export without a license to all countries except, Syria , Libya, Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Cuba, and North Korea. **Other Notes: All encryption equipment is considered a custom order and as such is not returnable. Harris CitadelTM CCX 128-bit encryption is standard on all units; 168-bit Triple DES is available upon request. To be compatible, the same encryption algorithm must be used on all units that intercommunicate. Only one algorithm can be resident on a single unit.
